Welcome to the Kansas City Disc Dogs!
Who we are.
The Kansas City Disc dogs are a group of dogs and their owners that
enjoy playing frisbee, both for fun and competition. We welcome
anyone that enjoys the same or is interested in teaching their dog to
play frisbee, whether they just want to play with their dog in the
backyard or get involved with competing and performing.
Who can join?
Anyone with a dog and a frisbee and a desire to have fun is encouraged
to join. Beginners are more than welcome, hopefully we can help
you train your dog to play frisbee.
What dog breeds can join?
Any dog breed is welcome! Our two charter members, Luna and
Bandit, are both loveable mutts that came from local rescue groups.
Why frisbee?
Playing frisbee with your dog has several advantages:
- Excellent bonding between you and your pet
- Great exercise for your canine friend (and for you, sometimes!)
- Minimal equipment involved (at a minimum, it just takes you, the dog and a frisbee)
- It gives your dog a ‘job’. This is
especially important for high energy ‘working’ dogs, such as herding
breeds and retrievers. More info…
- Most importantly, it is LOTS OF FUN!
Why should I join a disc dog club?
By having a club, we are able to share training tips, throwing tips
(for the humans), attend competitions as a club, host events, and participate in
local demos, just to name a few advantages. Most importantly, to
have fun together!
So how do I join?
By registering with KC Disc Dogs.com, you will automatically be
added to our mailing list. We are not affiliated with any
business, and your email address will only be used for the purpose of
notifications regarding the Kansas City Disc Dogs. We will
keep you posted on playdates, performances, etc. You can also
watch this site and hook up with us at one of our appearaces.
Are the Kansas City Disc Dogs available for performances, demonstrations, etc.?
Yes! Click on the 'Booking Info' button under the KC Disc Dogs Menu.
